As a conservation project, the goal behind Covo di Nord Est restoration project was to return the space to its original design, exposing the authentic stone walls. The expansion, carried out with the wise use of the same stones and style, has provided a new space in the upper part of the structure: ”the Covino”. The new exclusive area is accessible through the new paths.
The new “sound roof” construction allowed to avoid the acoustic and lighting problems. Every detail has been designed to create a refined atmosphere, elegant, and useful at the same time. A minimal color palette is used and the original characteristics are kept, but upgraded.
The atmosphere of the Covo has been improved with over 1500 palm trees coming directly from Sicily.
The architecture studio also dealt with fire prevention.

L’intervento di restauro ha riportato lo spazio al suo design originale, restituendo i muri in pietra a vista autentici. L’espansione, svolta con l’uso sapiente delle stesse pietre e stile, ha previsto un nuovo spazio “il Covino” nella parte superiore della struttura, raggiungibile tramite lo studio dei nuovi percorsi.
Grande attenzione è stata riservata al problema dell’acustica e dell’illuminazione con la costruzione di un “tetto suono”, tipologia di soffitto ideale per evitare i problemi dell’inquinamento acustico. Ogni dettaglio é stato studiato per creare al contempo un effetto ricercato, piacevole e utile, come le luci Led installate sulle scale in modo da indicare i percorsi durante la notte. L’atmosfera del Covo é stata migliorata con oltre 1500 palme giunte direttamente dalla Sicilia.
Lo studio di architettura si é inoltre occupato di opere di prevenzione incendio e agibilità.
